Things That Drive Me BATTY...

People who wear PAJAMAS (and YES... those DISNEY CHARACTER LOUNGE PANTS ARE CONSIDERED PAJAMAS) to the GROCERY STORE...

People who "allow" their CHILDREN to ride in the FRONT SEAT of a vehicle... UNBUCKLED (noless)... I understand that you drive a "tank"... BUT still...

People who let their trashcans sit out at the curb EMPTY... trash pick-up was THREE DAYS AGO...

People who "allow" their CHILDREN to run RAMPANT through a "resturant"... YOU may think it's CUTE... but I don't... and I can prety much GUARENTEE other people don't either...

When LIVE broadcasts run "long"... and then mess up the schedule on my DVR

WIND... WIND that makes the temperature PLUMMET

TALKING the TALK.... but NOT WALKING the WALK

COLD Leather CARSEATS... and on the FLIPSIDE... HEATED SEATS

Getting STUCK behind someone who is OBVIOUSLY chatting it up on their CELLPHONE at a RED LIGHT (that turned GREEN 10 seconds ago!)

STATIC... I don't like getting "zapped"...

Asking a SALES ASSOCIATE a SIMPLE question and having them look at you like you have just spoken to them in CHINESE...

Coming home from the GROCERY STORE and realizing we DID NEED MILK... *sigh*

BRAND WHORES... I can TELL by the COLOR of your "cutesy" sweatpants WHERE they came from... I DON'T need to see the BRAND NAME plastered across your bum!

DISRESPECT

PEOPLE who will undoubtedly CARRY their INFANT up to my FRONT DOOR (dresses in an ADORABLE DISNEY COSTUME... hold out a PILLOWCASE and say "TRICK or TREAT"... are you REEEEEEEEEAAAAALLLLY going to let your INFANT eat the candy? Or are you going to SAVE IT until their teeth come in???

Isn't it funny... it's the "littlest" things that can make a girl HAPPIEST!!!


Living in a house that is now almost 75 years old... with NO LINEN CLOSET... WHERE did the former owners in those 70 years PUT THEIR LINENS???


Well... I know WHERE I'm putting ours now... Michael "made" me a LINEN CLOSET (actually partially converted an exsisting closet in the spare room... he kept the "closet" and built around it)







The shelves sit on "cleats" and can be easily removed...

OH... the things that make us girls GIDDY!!! A place to put our towels... LOL...

Do What Works...

I have ALWAYS been a "List Maker"... in a way I find it oddly "soothing" to have a list... follow it... and be able to mark off "Things to Do" as "Done"...


We are geared up for full "RECITAL MODE" which starts FRIDAY... goes through the weekend... and every evening next week leading up to Recital Day on June 14th... soooooooo...

To calm my "manic mind" (I am frantic that I will forget a practice, prescribed dress for said practice, TIME... or God forbid LOCATION) I am currently using my kitchen cabinets as constant reminders... planning to remove the reminders as they are accomplished... (nothing "new"... I did this last year too and it kept us ON TIME and ON TASK for recital prep)

Hey... it may not be "pretty"... but it works... for me anyway!

Marked OFF "THE LIST"...

Michael worked VERY VERY HARD this past weekend... and got a MAJOR project marked off our "Spring/Summer" To Do List... we now have a NEW PATIO!!! THe old patio was BLUE STONE... and had seen better days... THIS patio is 25x11 (a tad bigger than the old) and is tumbled brick set with fine sand...


So from Friday afternoon until 2:00 Sunday afternoon was spent leveling... setting... leveling again (THAT was the toughest part according to Michael)... and filling... OH... and the FUNNEST part (again according to Michael) was getting to use....

THIS... a TAMPER!!! He really enjoyed this... and MAY have "tampered" a bit too much in a couple of places (causing another leveling to occur... LOL)... What is it with MEN and rented toys???

We'll be picking up some patio furniture (I found some at LOWES that coordinates with my estate sale find) adding the FIRE PIT (an early Mother's Day present) and enjoying MANY Summer nights out back!!!

Everything Old is New Again...

With a couple of cans of spraypaint... the vintage WHITE patio set (that I picked up a couple of YEARS ago at an auction) gets a makeover... Another project crossed off THE LIST!!!

A Disappearing Act...

Living in an older home has its drawbacks... wierd nooks and crannies that really serve no purpose... as was the case with this built in located in a corner of the Living Room... well... now you see it...





Now you DON'T... The project was DONE over a weekend back in JUNE... but COMPLETED when the floor moulding was nailed in place this past weekend ... :o)
